Modern Green Kitchen
These clients were removing a small conservatory and removing the wall between the kitchen and an unloved dining room to create a single kitchen-dining space. The resulting room is long and narrow – not the easiest room to create a functional layout, particularly when the clients were insistent that they wanted an island as a social hub. I love a challenging space and went to work, creating a couple of layout options for them to consider.
This couple wanted to get away from the white kitchen look and go for a more industrial feel that would really come to life in the evenings. They were attracted to this soft green. A visit to the local worktop fabricator allowed them to explore the whole range of options for the worktop. They chose this beautiful dark slate quartz with copper tones. This is then picked up by a warm walnut wood for the dining table: a worktop high dogleg extension off the island. The flooring was chosen to complement the materials without dominating them.
