Bath Family Home

This project involved the total renovation of a beautiful Bath family house that had really been stuck in the past. By extending the rear and opening up the main ground floor room, we created a beautiful, light-filled family room.

We used the different ceiling heights to define the different areas of an open-plan kitchen/dining/living room, with place for the family and friends to gather, socialise as well as work. By reorganising the upper floors, we gave each bedroom a bathroom and improved the access to them.

The colours were chosen to give a coherent feel across the whole home while giving personality to individual rooms. Special attention was given to complementing the beautiful Bath stone, staying in a warm colour palette. While embracing the modern feel of the rear extension we reinstated the period features in the older part of the house, including cornice, ceiling roses and skirtings.
